Raffle number generator

Set the range to the ticket numbers you actually sold and draw as many winners as you have prizes. Repeats stay off, so one ticket cannot win twice.

How to use

  1. 1.Set the range to the tickets in play. If you sold 1 to 320, the maximum is 320, not 500.
  2. 2.Enter how many winners you need, one per prize.
  3. 3.Draw once, and write the result down somewhere outside this page before closing the tab.

Set the range to tickets sold, not tickets printed

This is the mistake that causes trouble. If you printed 500 tickets and sold 320, a range of 1 to 500 can draw number 412 — a ticket nobody holds. You then either redraw, which everyone watching has to take on trust, or award the prize to a ticket that was never in the draw. Draw from what was sold. If the sold numbers are not a continuous block, paste the actual numbers into the random name picker, which draws from exactly the lines you give it.

Several prizes in one draw

Asking for three numbers in a single press, with repeats off, gives first, second and third from one draw. That is cleaner than three separate presses because there is no question about what happened in between, and the order they come out in is the order they were drawn.

What this does not record

Nothing here is saved: not the range, not the result, not the time. For a raffle among friends that is fine. For one where money changed hands, the person who did not win will eventually ask what the draw was, and a number on your screen is not an answer to that. Anything with real stakes needs a record that exists outside your own device.

Frequently asked questions

What if the winning number was never sold?

Set the range to the tickets you actually sold and it cannot happen. If it already did, the honest fix is to redraw in front of the same people and say why.

Can I exclude certain numbers?

Not through a range. Paste the eligible numbers as a list into the random name picker, which only draws from the lines you provide.

Can one ticket win two prizes?

Not with repeats off — each number comes out at most once per draw. Turn repeats on if a ticket should be eligible for every prize independently.

Is this valid for a legal prize draw?

The randomness is rarely what gets questioned; the record is. Rules in many places require that you can show how and when the draw happened, and this page produces nothing you can show.

Running a giveaway on an Instagram post?

The comment picker reads the post, counts the entries and produces a public verification page with a code anyone can open — things a list pasted by hand cannot prove. Free up to 100 comments.
